At Visiting Veteran Services, it is our mission to gain the trust of our clients by improving their quality of life through personal concierge services that offer exceptional service quality, high relevancy, and very competitive rates.

An Honorably Discharged/Retired United States Army Field Grade Officer and Combat Veteran or an Honorably Discharged United States Army NCO (Non-Commissioned Officer) provides personal concierge assistance services. 

A Visiting Veteran Services Veteran exhibits loyalty, respect, honor, integrity, and personal courage; that fulfils your personal concierge assistance errands by performing various services (some are listed below). 

Located in Horry County, South Carolina (near Myrtle Beach), Visiting Veteran Services charges by time (i.e., hourly or daily) or by flat fee per errand or task.

  • Ancestry/Genealogy Research

A Visiting Veteran Services Veteran with ancestry/genealogy memberships on www.ancestry.com (Ancestry.com), www.newspaper.com (Newspapers.com), and www.fold3.com (Fold3.com) will research your family's tree.

  • Citizen Assistance

A Visiting Veteran Services Veteran will provide special need assistance to a person on a wide variety of transportation and household tasks – doctor appointments, personal shopping, errands, laundry, dry cleaning pick-up, and/or delivery, house sitting, and so forth.  We not only provide transportation to and from hospitals, doctor offices, therapy centers and other care facilities, but we wait with patients, ensure discharge instructions are clear, and then take clients back to their home.  This allows for less stress and confusion for the client as well as the family and has proven to have better outcomes for the health of the client.

  • Notary Public

A Visiting Veteran Services Veteran with a South Carolina Notary Commission will notarize your documents.


  • Property Management

A Visiting Veteran Services Veteran with assist to make sure your property is running smoothly making sure the property is ready for seasonal visits and well maintained when no one is around.  Home inventory – video/itemize the contents of your home for insurance.

  •  Realty Services

A real estate licensed Visiting Veteran Services Veteran will assist in locating and purchasing property in the Horry County, South Carolina area.

  • Pet Sitting/Pet Walking

When you go on trips and concerned as to what will happen with your pet; a Veteran is willing to go to your home to take care of their pets.  A Visiting Veteran Services Veteran can provide your pet with a vigorous walk (and an opportunity to relieve themselves) during the day/evening.

  • Therapy Dog Visits

A Visiting Veteran Services Veteran with an AKC therapy dog that is trained to provide affection, comfort, and love to people in your home, retirement homes, nursing homes, and to people with anxiety disorders or autism.

Pay-As-You-Go Plan

  • Visiting Veteran Services are billed flat rate per errand or task, and others are billed hourly because not every service requires the same amount of effort.  For example, waiting for the cable TV company is much easier than organizing your house.


Flat Rate

  • Request a free quote .

  • With the "Pay As You Go Plan”, payment is due upon completion of services. 


Payment Terms

  • A deposit is required for any purchases over $100.00.

  • For tasks, requiring the help of more than one individual there will be an additional charge.

  • Visiting Veteran Services accepts cash and personal checks.


Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellations must be called in to (843) 902-1622 and received at least two hours prior to a scheduled service or a minimum one-hour fee may apply.


  • Alan, co-founder and co-owner, has a doctoral degree in philosophy (PhD) from the Pennsylvania State University and is a retired Coastal Carolina University associate professor.  Alan served in both the US Army and US Army National Guard for over thirty-seven years, retiring as a Major (O4).  He deployed five times to Afghanistan and earned both the Combat Medical Badge and the Combat Action Badge.  Alan has published refereed journal articles, presented research at state and national conferences, and guided ten ecotourism trips to Ireland for 2-25 people (university students, friends, and family) on two-week trips.  He is a notary public (certified in the State of South Carolina).  Alan can be reached by mobile telephone at  (843) 902-1622 or emailed at  alan@visitingveteran.com.

  • Mary, co-founder and co-owner, graduated from Coastal Carolina University with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree.  She spent eleven years in the US Army, US Army National Guard, US Army Reserves.  Mary deployed twice to Korea and has earned the Army Commendation Medal and Army Achievement Medal.  She has worked for the Horry County Council on Aging for over twenty years as a senior citizen center manager.  Additionally, she is a license real estate referral agent.  Mary can be reached at (843) 504-8725 or emailed at marycase415@gmail.com.
